Kangaroo inspired skates
Product Design
Taking inspiration from a kangaroo's ability to move across a variety of terrains with a sense of effortlessness, I designed these inline skates as a classroom project. An exoskeleton with suspension would allow a user to extend the usability of the skates beyond a well paved street or a skating ring.
WORK DONE AT NID 2010
ROLE CONCEPTUALISATION & DESIGN
The exoskeleton structure of the skate was made using Balsa wood and the shoe was vacuum formed in polystyrene sheet.
The wheels were made using lathed MDF and laser cut acrylic sheet.
